TQI Express Phone Mentoring

TQI Express Phone Mentoring

TQI Express Phone Mentoring:

It all started with the discussion in the end of April on how to reach govt school students to give them moral support where there is digital inequality. We spoke to a parent from a village who said “My son is studying in a govt school and we don’t have smart phone and I want my kid not to loose interest in learning during this time “.

Thus came the idea of Talent Quest for India Trust Express Phone Mentoring program where we started connecting one govt school kid with one college student for half an hour daily for a 30 days program.

The team put together a module which focus on 5 English words, 1 Moral story discussion, 1 Activity. It all started with 15 students from Kovilpadhagai village, Avadi and there on it started growing organically where we approached many school teachers, parents to enrol their kids. The students brought their neighbours, friends and the parents spoke to other parents in their street. The phone call session was attended by the student’s siblings and even by their parents. While i am writing this, 120+ govt school students are being mentored by college students from over 60+ colleges in Tamilnadu.

We observed many college students are also anxious during this time and wanted to improve their communication skill. We started TQIExpress program for them where we connected working or research professional for a 15 days program. The team put together a 15 days module which has role plays, small fun activities. 80+ college students across Tamilnadu are being mentored one on one by working and research professionals from more than 30+ companies across 7+ countries.
