PROJECTS
Express
Through careful observation of students hailing from rural communities, we found that in order to help them overcome their fear we will need to make the English language as accessible to them as possible by relating it to activities that they like to engage in, like watching movies, etc
TQI has taken its flagship program, Express to form a bridge for the students to overcome their communication barrier. By adapting innovative methods we are helping the students to overcome stage fear and express their thoughts openly.
The idea of Express program is to be open to all sorts of people irrespective of whether they are in school, college or working. Initially the program was conducted to help the students at colleges. As time progressed, the program has spread its wings across corporate, schools and colleges throughout the country.
ExpressPhoneMentoring
Problem – This pandemic has brought formal learning for most school students to an abrupt stop, especially for those in rural areas and orphanages. They cannot afford the privilege of attending online classes.
Solution – We have therefore come up with an action plan of facilitating phone mentoring to students of class 5-10 to engage them regularly in an effective learning process and provide moral support to them during these challenging times. We will be allocating one mentor to each mentee, and they will interact for half an hour every day for 30 days. The team has put together a module and tracking mechanism in place for impactful interaction—module focus: 5 English words, 1 Moral story discussion, 1 Activity.
Results – 600+ government school students across TamilNadu and Karnataka are being mentored one on one by college students from 120+ colleges.

TQIExpress Phone Mentoring for Rural College Students:
Problem – Stage fear and fear of communicating in English is still a prevalent problem for many youth in today’s day and age.
Solution – The Express program’s main motive is to facilitate students to overcome such fears. During this pandemic, we have upgraded this into a phone mentoring module designed to make college students overcome their fear over English and improve their communication skills by interacting with working professionals daily for half an hour spread across 15 days. We will be allocating one mentor to one mentee.
Results – 250+ college students are being mentored one on one by working professionals from 30+ companies across 6+ countries.

Ullas
TQI has been partnering with Ullas Trust ( Social Initiative of Intellect) since 2014 across various districts for their summit classes. Every year our volunteers are working on inspiring the rural students from class 9th to 12th to develop a “Can do” spirit. The personality development classes are conducted based on specially crafted lesson plans that encompass communication skills, confidence-building, memory skills, active teamwork, public speaking, and leadership skills. The summit programs are designed in a cycle of four years from class IX-XII, termed level I-IV. Each Level is subdivided into 5 sessions. It has been TQI’s endeavor to guide the school’s students for the long term.
Daan Utsav
This festival is celebrated in the 1st week of October every year since 2014. The fundamental reason for which TQI celebrates DaanUtsav is for all our team members to go back to their roots in their villages and connect with their family and friends to conduct any social activity. The festival is approached in a highly focused manner with a proper organization structure yet retaining the core “one-family values” of TQI. Events range from simple tree plantation to massive clean up to huge talent appreciation and educational workshops. The most unique feature of the way we celebrate it is that many of volunteers’ family are actively involved in celebrating the festival with us.
The journey of TQI celebrating Daan-Utsav started in 2014 when we reached around 8 districts, 21 districts in 2015. In 2016, we were happy to celebrate in 20 districts in 2 states and by 2017, we celebrated in 30 districts in 4 states including Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata and Mysuru.
Chhote scientists and Kanaa
STQI has partnered with the CSR initiative of KPIT Technologies, Bangalore to take their flagship program Chhote Scientists to government schools.
The goal of Chhote Scientists program is to bring science from fancy world to reality. It is achieved by making the kids do hands-on science experiments to observe and understand the science around them. The experiments are made out of materials that are found and used in day to day life, such as plastic cups, straws, bottles, glasses etc., which gives rebirth to used materials in the name of recycling.
The program facilitates the students of class 7, 8 and 9 and provides them an opportunity to understand science through common sense. It helps them to take theories in their minds with logical reasoning than taking them as mere faith. By constantly questioning their understanding of a concept, TQI help them in strengthening their depth in the concept and enhancing their thinking capability.
Currently TQI is implementing Chhote scientists at schools in and around Mysuru through our volunteers from different neighborhood colleges.

Learnathon

Youth Linguistic Circles
India is home to more than 19,500 mother tongues
India, a country of many languages, has a rich and varied history. The current generation doesn’t get to dwell on the richness of their mother tongue. So, TQI came up with a plan to set youth linguistic circles, where students meet regularly, discuss literature, and release magazines with creative writings of the team in those languages.

Scholarship exam awareness and training
The government conducts NMMS and NTSE exams for students in the 8th and 10th standards, respectively. Tamilnadu government conducts trust exam for 9th std. Government school students who clear this get a stipend that will motivate them to study and ensure money doesn’t become a barrier to studying. These exams give a launchpad for students to attend other competitive exams with ease in their later stage of life.
We started training for these exams in 2020. We trained 150+ govt school students online in 2021, which even paved the way for the improvement of admission in a village govt school. We plan to continue this with more passion and enthusiasm, partnering with other organizations

STRATEGY
There is always a quest for something in every action of TQI. This quest has led us to take multiple vibrant techniques to implement our programs. As our slogan says, TQI uses the combinations of connecting, exploring, sharing and leading in every program. TQI is also open to adapt new strategies and plans whenever and wherever they are necessary.
Connect
Inter-person communication is a major problem in today’s society. One’s talent is other’s solution. Just by connecting with each other, we can connect every need with it’s rightful source. This strategy is implemented through our flagship program Express with the help of TQI Club in schools and colleges.
Explore
No matter how intelligent a person is, if he stops to think and explore more, he would fall deep down to the crust. Our tie-up with KPIT CSR to take up Chhote Scientists program helps the students from colleges and schools to think and explore science with the help of common sense.
Lead
To break the superstition of “someone from extraterrestrial space have to come and lead the society for collective good”, TQI has made leaders in every neighborhood. Ullas Trust summit classes are best examples of how we transform the youngsters in every neighborhood to “Leaders Next Door”.
